प्रिय साथियों, पत्रकारिता जगत में आपका तहेदिल से स्वागत करते हुए मुझे खुशी है। मुझे उम्मीद है कि आप सभी पत्रकारिता, ख़ासकर टेलीविज़न पत्रकारिता को बेहतर, भरोसेमंद और ज्यादा प्रभावकारी बनाने में भूमिका निभाएंगे। भारतीय टेलीविज़न पत्रकारिता गए वर्षों में काफी बेहतर हुई है लेकिन अब भी वो उस दायरे से बाहर नहीं आ पाई है जिसकी उसे दरकार है और जो उसका हक़ भी है। |
| हम सबको मिल कर ये काम करना होगा। पत्रकारिता के अपने तजुर्बे के आधार पर मैं ये कह सकता हूं कि एक पत्रकार को अपने पेशे के साथ - साथ जीवन में भी ईमानदारी, मेहनत और अपने सिद्धांतों के प्रति निष्ठावान होना चाहिए। ख़बरों के प्रति निरपेक्ष भाव रख कर ही आप किसी ख़बर को ईमानदारी से परोस सकते हैं। अब समय आ गया है जब भारतीय टेलीविज़न पत्रकारिता को गंभीर होना होगा। उसे जादू- टोने और भूत-प्रेत की छाया से निकलना होगा, ख़बरों को तार्किकता और वैज्ञानिकता की कसौटी पर कसना होगा। बाजार के दबाव की दलील अधकचरी सोच और दिमागी रूप से खाली पत्रकारों की देन है, इससे बचिए।
मुझे उम्मीद है कि आप पत्रकारों की नई पौध हमसे बेहतर पत्रकारिता करेगी।
