WE ARE AFFILIATED TO PUNJAB TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY (UGC/AICTE APPROVED)

Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar was established by an Act of State Legislature on 16 Jan 1997 to promote Technical, Management & Pharmaceutical education in the State at the Degree level and above. The University has the mandate to set up off- campus Distance Education Learning Centres of Excellence in Emerging Technologies and for promoting Training, Research and Development in these areas. One of the main focuses of the University in present scenarios is in the areas of professional and skill oriented technologies for the masses.

All Courses are as per the university Grants Commission (UGC) Nomenclature Referred to Section 22(1) of UGC. The University is a member of Association of Indian universities (AIU) and also accredited by International University Accreditation Association (IUAA) of USA. In order to provide opportunities to the faculty to improve their qualifications and to introduce research activities, the University has established Twelve Regional Centres at various locations in India. The University has also started M.Tech courses and agreed to provide academic research input to these Centres. The University bridges the gap between the students and the industry by helping the students in job placements. The University helps the industry in R&D through its various Programmes under Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Distance Education Program in a country like India is an effective way of spreading the education and technology to the people. Distance education is an established and recognized mode of education, which is in consonance with changing socio-economic needs and emerging demands of the knowledge era. Keeping up with the spirit of Open University system and in accordance with National Policy of Education, which lays emphasis on continuing and distance education, the University is providing quality education in rural and urban areas. To equip the young men and women with the expertise in the emerging field Punjab Technical University has set up more than 350 Learning Centres in all the regions of Punjab and across the nation. They are conducting diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses in IT, Fashion and Beauty Technologies, Paramedical and Applied Technologies, Hotel Management, Tourism and Media Technologies.

NAM Institute of Professional Studies is affiliated to Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar and running as one of the most sought after Learning Centre of PTU. PTU was established in January 1997 for advancement of technical education & development. This is among top most Indian Universities & considered as number one Technical University in North India. Right now more than 200 Engineering colleges, Media Institutions, Management, Pharmacy colleges, Architecture, Hotel Management and other colleges are under its affiliation. The 12 Regional Centers are supervising the academic standards of LC’S like us & NAM as a LC focuses on advancement of technical education & development which are being highly supported by PTU.

Student capacity of university is above 2 lacs. PTU is contributing a lot in the development of country by imparting qualitative education to various groups of students such as Engineers, Media persons, Managers and Researchers. Faculties and all the other members are highly qualified and well groomed.

NAM in affiliation with PTU also promises to generate shinning stars for India. We here at NAM provide all the technical and managerial skills to our students with the help of our talented faculty. We follow the concept of research and development which means we believe in developing talent of our students by researching about their personalities.

DIRECTORATE OF DISTANCE EDUCATION

Directorate of Distance Education of PTU was established in the year 2001 for promoting IT and Non- IT courses through distance mode. Under Distance Education Programme the University is offering only those courses which have been approved & recognised by Distance Education Council (DEC), a Statutory Body, responsible for the Promotion & Coordination of the Distance Education System & for the determination of its Standards. This Statutory Authority came into being Vide Clause 16 of IGNOU’s Act approved by The Parliament. Presently various courses recognized by DEC are being offered by PTU in more than 350 Learning Centers (LC) across the country. Regional Learning Facilitation Centers (RLFC) in public-private partnership model have been established to provide support services to the Learning Centers.
